5. 200th birthday of SCNAT in 2015

In 2015 the National Academy of Natural Sciences, SCNAT,
will celebrate its 200th birthday. To celebrate this, SCNAT
is organising during the whole year different events, that
will be defined during the two coming years.

From what has been decided, the celebration will have three
components:
– towards the general public (e.g. exhibition in the whole country,…)
– towards the scientists (e.g. a Natural Sciences forum)
– towards politics/media/economics (e.g. a VIP event in a prestigious place)

To prepare this, SCNAT is asking to all its members to contribute
by proposing ideas in this framework. It could be participation
to an exhibition, astronomical events (e.g. broadcasting first
light ot Espresso, event similar to the night of stars, …).
In addition, this event will be largely funded through sponsoring,
so SCNAT is asking all its members to actively participate to
fund raising by contacting all potential partners. Once an
informal agreement is reached with partners, SCNAT will be
in charge of all the administrative aspects of fund raising.

More information will follow during the coming months. In between,
you can contact the person in charge at SGAA/SSAA, Yann Alibert (Bern):
