1. Call for PhD talks at the SSAA General Assembly
During the general assembly, held 22 October 2010 in Bern,
some time will be reserved for short oral presentations of
PhD talks.
To apply, persons defending their PhD in 2009 or 2010, are
invited to send a title + short abstract to the Secretary
before 22 august 2010.
The final program of the assembly will be circulated in September
and posted on the SSAA Website.

2. Saas-Fee course 2010: From Planets to Life (preliminary announcement)
The 41st Saas-Fee course on “From Planets to Life”, will be held
April 3-9, 2011 in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland.
The main topics and speakers are the following:
1) Astrophysical conditions for life development: Jonathan Lunine
2) Earth geology and climatology history: Jim Kasting
3) Origin and critical steps of life development on Earth: John Baross

will open this fall.
